WHO WE ARE

Like-minded men and women have got together to form ‘The MARG Foundation’ (The Motivation Assistance Rehabilitation & Growth Foundation), a positively motivated peer group with the sole purpose of betterment of human life.

We are a charity not for profit organisation. We are registered in India under the Societies Act of 1860 vide Regn. No.: 37633 and 80G(5) of the Income Tax, 1961. We are registered in Australia under the Corporations Act, 2001 vide ACN: 648912798.

MARG took birth in the year 2000 and now travels to Australia bringing with it the ethos of VASUDHAIVA KUTUMBAKAM. It comes from famous Vedas. “Vasudha” means earth, “iva” means is and “kutumbakam” means family. The world is one family.

Our vision is that of a man who is free from the bondage of the burdens of social evils and the system that we follow without questioning, without understanding and without it being acceptable deep down in the core of our hearts. Free from a society where some men are superior by virtue of their caste creed, financial status, education politics, religion, sex and so-called criteria’s. Now let us look at reality and the so-called frustrations one gets to see or face on a daily basis.

Discrimination, violence, inequality. Lack of basic needs like, food, medicine, clothes and shelter, further heightened by inhuman living conditions, language barriers, low literacy. Lack of jobs, justice denied, ignored human rights, ignored multiculturalism, lack of respect are just few of the challenges faced daily by the disadvantaged migrants and refugees.

The list is endless. Problems keep accumulating, manifesting into(or are justifications given for) innumerable behaviours and mental disorders like: killings, rape, domestic violence, misogyny, depression, suicides, child abuse and other offender related behaviours.

Ultimately making the individual morally and spiritually bankrupt. A world where bride burning is a so what? Humans treated like slaves, where fathers sexually abuse daughters, where beating woman is common, where countless youth live on streets desperate to make two ends meet. Taking refuge under drugs & crime, just because they hoped for a new life, rejecting the abuse and the poverty in which they were born, in mere hope of creating a new world & searching a gratifying new life.

We are ordinary people, just like you, humans to the core, with positive as well as negative traits, having the belief that collectively we shall make a difference. We also have the faith, that collective spirit is the best guiding light, to inspire and motivate, the creativity in each and every one of us, to help make this world a better place. To bring a ray of sunshine in our lives as well as in the lives of those whom we come in contact with. We have accepted the fact that we cannot change the whole world, but we surely can change a small bit of it.
